Bio
Fredy J. Revilla, MD, is the Medical Director of the
James J. and Joan A. Gardner Family Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement
Disorders. He has been a neurologist at
the UC Neuroscience Institute since 2003 and an associate professor of
Neurology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine since 2008. From 2002-2003 Dr. Revilla was an assistant
professor in the Department of Neurology, with joint appointment in Department
of Neurosurgery, at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
Dr. Revilla is very active in the community and serves as
the medical director for the Tri-State Parkinson’s Wellness Group, is the
medical advisor for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (HDSA), Ohio Valley
Chapter and is a member of the Parkinson’s Study Group (PSG) Mentoring
Committee. Dr. Revilla is sought out to
give presentations locally, nationally and internationally as an expert in
Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and other Movement Disorders. His contributions have helped make the
Gardner Family Center a reputable treatment facility for Movement Disorder
patients within our region. In 2013 Dr. Revilla was elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association.
Dr. Revilla promotes exercise in his patients and has
combined his passion for exercise with his love of nature by participating in a
number of outdoor activities. Recently
he climbed to the summit of Mt. Illimani (21,122 ft) in Bolivia which he
dedicated to his patients who struggle with Parkinson’s disease and
Huntington’s disease.
