Ryan Adamkiewicz was just 17 years old when he had his first seizure in high school. At his worst, he would seize 100 times a day, sometimes for hours at a time. Ryan knew he had to do something about his condition, so he turned to University Hospital, their Epilepsy Center and neurosurgeon, Dr. Ellen Air. After placing electrodes on the surface of his brain Dr. Air was able to detect where the seizures were coming from, and remove the parts of his brain where they were located. After a number of surgeries and a couple of weeks in the hospital the results were priceless.
