Bio
Jessica Colyer, MD, is a board certified physiatrist and
has been practicing with UC Health and the University of Cincinnati
Neuroscience Institute since 2010. She
is currently an assistant professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at
the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She holds an undergraduate degree from Xavier
University. After graduating from the
University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, she completed her residency
training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of
Kentucky.
Dr. Colyer has a strong interest in neuro rehabilitation
and enjoys working with patients recovering from stroke. She has special interest in spasticity
management, and is skilled in using botulinum toxin (Botox) to help prevent
arm/leg contractures and performing electromyography (EMG). Dr. Colyer has always had an interest in complementary
medicine techniques and tries to use less invasive measures of treatment when
possible. For example, she is trained in
the use of acupuncture for pain management.
When not at work, Dr. Colyer stays very busy with her two
young children. She also enjoys
traveling, watching movies, and reading SciFi/fantasy novels.
