Bio
Michael Keys, MD, is a regionally known and respected expert in Geriatric
Psychiatry. Prior to joining the Lindner Center of HOPE, Dr. Keys served
as Medical Director for the Department of Psychiatry-Older Adult Mental
Health Program at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also
served as the Consulting Psychiatrist for the Geriatric Community
Outreach Program for Central Community Health Board, Hamilton County
Mental Health Board in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Keys’ other clinical
positions have included serving as Attending Psychiatrist for the
Geriatric Psychiatry Unit of University Hospital, University of
Cincinnati and the Psychobiology Unit of University Hospital.
Dr. Keys also serves on the editorial board for Annals of Long-Term Care
and is a member of the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry,
the International Psychogeriatric Association, and the American
Psychiatric Association. In 2000 he received the Excellence in
Leadership Award for Geriatric Education from the Greater Cincinnati
Joint Council on Geriatric Care and in 2007 he was named to Cincinnati
Magazine’s Top Doctors list.
He has presented on such topics as Atypical Antipsychotics in
Alzheimer’s Disease, Understanding Cognitive Impairment, and Dementia,
Delirium, and Depression. Dr. Keys is also a published author.
