Bio
Thomas Geracioti, MD, is the director of the Psychoneuroendocrinology Program and professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is also a research physician and staff psychiatrist at the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VA). Previous positions Dr. Geracioti has held include director of the Mental Health Care Line and chief of Psychiatry at the Cincinnati VA, vice chair of the Department of Psychiatry at UC, and chief psychiatric officer at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Prior to his career with UC Health, Dr. Geracioti was assistant professor of Psychiatry and director of the Mood Disorders Clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Dr. Geracioti is a clinical psychoneuroendocrinologist, which supports a rare subspecialty of psychiatry focused on brain hormones and neurochemicals, a psychopharmacologist, and a psychotherapist. His clinical research focus is centered on mood and anxiety syndromes, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dr. Geracioti was honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 2008.
